Protracted monocracy of Eritrea

Yosief Tewolde

Eritrea finds itself in the doldrums of tyranny since its existance as an independent state and before, under many nonchalant rules and systems for the last 50 years.

Now it finds itself under the barbaric state of tyranny ruled by monocracy of the only entity naming himself the President of independent Eritrea, Isaias Afewerki.

Some thing important to notice being, the trepidity of the old Oppositions has indulged the tyrant into play.

First, the gorilla group EPLF Shaebia was seen as a Christian entity by the then established group ELF Jebha. I question whether its perspective of coming into play had been a religious aspect in itself. In Tigrigna there is a saying, “weyo naten niHamaten” literally, “What is theirs, to thir inlaws”.

Under the dictator, Eritrea finds itself under one party PFDJ, one person Isaias Afwerki, one media service, one perspective of thinking.

Talking about those opposing the system, one sees tens of opposition groups, as many media services like TV and Radio. Even the current movements, that I consider positively arising have many segments, yiAkl, Fenkil, Biruh Metsai and a few more. Why so many un-united perspectives is a result of negative outcome. One cannot be surprised to see that Eritrea is a dis-functional and irrelevant country, if it deserves to be called a country.

The factions will not serve a positive outcomes and the tyrant knowing this will indulge further as ever..
