More on Eritrea under Dergue, Ethiopia

In my previous article shared, I commented where Eritrea was in better state whilst under the helm of Ethiopia even when it was ruled by the hideous military dictatorship of the Dergue that would have ruled it for about 17 years. When Eritrea as a province enjoyed the availability of trains and trams, furthermore, people had the opportunity to see their relations in incarceration were alive, at least. Unlike today when they are not visited to the extent their whereabouts and livelihoods not known in torture chambers unlike prisons of Dergue.

Under the drastic Dergue era when Eritrea was a part of Ethiopia, the guerilla warfare aimed to make Eritrea independent was in play. Many young convinced by the idea of making Eritrea independent, joined campaigns in the wilderness.

It makes it important to note, at that time, there had not been incarceration of parents or familiy members of the young that would have joined the guerilla warfare campaigns, it makes it important to note comparatively that in todays Eritrea, the young rather fleeing torturous existance, it is expected to see hear that their parents and relations being incarcerated.

I am told, at that time, even parents, relations of the leaders of the guerilla campaigns were not imprisoned or tortured, that including the relations of the current dictat in Eritrea, Isaias Afwerki, who used his powers to make disapear his co-campaigners during the guerilla warfare, now most of, in dungeons, if they are alive miraculously.
